PCCTools for Revit guide

Save and restore
named Crop States

Store complete point-cloud work areas inside the RVT file, including every Quick Crop and the exact native Cropbox transform.

What a Crop State contains

A named state stores the Quick Crop stack for every point-cloud instance, whether the Cropbox is active, and its exact transform, rotation and minimum/maximum bounds.

Save a working scan view

  1. Set up the Quick Crops and Cropbox.
  2. Click New Crop State.
  3. Enter a unique descriptive name.
  4. The state is saved inside the current Revit model.

Restore a state

Choose the state in Crop State Manager. PCCTools restores its point-cloud crop stack and Cropbox, then zooms the active 3D view to the resulting scan boundaries.

Manage project states

The manager can save, restore, rename, overwrite and delete states. Use names tied to zones and tasks, such as “Level 02 west wing”, “Plant room pipework” or “Facade north”.

Crops created outside PCCTools cannot be converted into a PCCTools named state because their crop planes are not available in the stored Quick Crop history.
